It is important to highlight the power of reversing nature loss to prevent pandemics Discover more
Over the past year we have seen the devastating effects of COVID-19 on the world personally, emotionally, and economically. We have also seen the inter-connectedness of our health and our planets health. The same human activities that drive climate change and biodiversity loss also drive pandemic risk through their impacts on our environment. We can reduce the risk of pandemics by addressing these activities having a positive impact on our own health as well as the health of our planet.
The pack currently contains a document which curates nature, health and pandemic messaging. It brings together content from WWF and other external publications, including the IPBES and ILO reports. This document can be used as a quick and easy reference document to access information. Please note, this is an evolving situation and data is relevant at the time of publishing – so it is important to always reference the publication, if using any of the messages.
This document can be used throughout 2021. There will be a second phase of content creation – upcoming assets include videos, links to blogs, quote cards and interviews. Look out for this from 1st April 2021.
